Mike has created, written and directed most of the extremely popular “Silly Songs with Larry” segments, including fan favorites “His Cheeseburger” and “The Hairbrush Song.” He has also lent his screenwriting and directing talents to dozens of VeggieTales episodes such as

In addition, Mike has authored a number of VeggieTales Books and CD projects as well as developing and writing for another of Big Idea’s hit animated properties, 3-2-1 Penguins! For 30 years, Mike has been in a production environment, landing his first job in film and video production in 1987 in Chicago while in college. Along with fellow co-worker and friend Phil Vischer, he turned an idea for telling stories, using the then-new technology of 3D computer animation, into the phenomenon of
VeggieTales. Establishing a homespun business dubbed Big Idea, the two launched the first ever CGI (computer-generated imagery) video series to the consumer market. Mike has gone on to be involved with every facet of VeggieTales production including editing, animation, sound, story development, writing, directing and character voicing. Mike continues to use his experience and knowledge in entertainment to create and develop stories that can help parents pass on wholesome values to their children and is currently authoring an early reader series through Tyndale Publishing titled, “The Dead Sea Squirrels.” Mike makes his home in Franklin, TN with his wife and two children.

Guy Gilchrist ~Writer, Producer, Animator, Artist

Guy Gilchrist, co-created the daily comic strip “The Muppets”, which was printed worldwide in over 660 newspapers from 1981 to 1986. He began work with Jim Henson in 1982 and in 1984, President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan invited Gilchrist to be guest of honor at the Easter at the White House celebration. Later that week, Gilchrist’s Muppets artwork was permanently enshrined in the Smithsonian Institution. Gilchrist’s Muppet artwork was chosen to be part of the touring “The Art of the Muppets” exhibit and has appeared in museums worldwide. The characters were also seen in a storybook style for the 1984 computer game “Kermit’s Electronic StoryMaker,” and in a coloring-book and comic-book-like Western story for the “Crayola Colorfun Theater”. He also drew licensed merchandise for Henson, most notably material with “Muppet Babies” and “Fraggle Rock” characters. A Gilchrist Kermit can be recognized by the three lines around each side of the smile on his face. This style of Kermit persisted for many years and can still be seen on some merchandise. With Greg Walker, Guy drew the comic strip “The Rock Channel”, spoofing MTV culture in a style similar to the TV series WKRP in Cincinnati. During the 1980s and 1990s, Guy Gilchrist and his studio created many children’s books based on popular cartoon characters, such as the “Looney Tunes” and “Tiny Toon Adventures”, “Minnie Mouse”, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, “X-Men”, and “Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa”. In 1995, Guy and Brad Gilchrist were asked to take over Ernie Bushmiller’s classic comic strip “Nancy”. Guy Gilchrist subsequently took over the strip entirely, ending his tenure in 2018

10:30 Morning Address William Alexander Wolaver ~Producer, Music Artist, Chief Musical Producer, Engineer – Annie Moses Band

William Alexander Wolaver was, in some fashion, named after both William the Conqueror and Alexander The Great. His penchant for conquest was revealed at the fragile age of four, when, as his mother recalls, he stormed into the kitchen in a torrent of frustration. When asked what was the matter, Alex erupted, “I want to be the greatest doctor in the whole wide world, but the girls won’t let me!” This was the beginning.Alex began conquering the violin at the age of four, and after five years decided the viola was a more appropriate target, with its larger size and deeper, manlier tone. They made a good match, and within five more years Alex and his Viola were accepted to study at the Juilliard School, where he was said by some to be the youngest viola student to ever audition with the daunting Bartók Viola Concerto, the most difficult piece in the viola repertoire. While at Juilliard he performed in many chamber music groups, among them a hand-picked string quartet coached by the legendary Itzhak Perlman and served as principal violist for the Juilliard Symphony. While conquering the viola, Alex decided to tangle with the technological side of music. He began his music production career in the school of hard knocks, surviving many a technological meltdown in his basement studio laboratory.

Over the years, he learned the ropes at the elbow of Grammy Award-winning producers and engineers, and has served as chief producer for Annie Moses Band for over a decade, with two PBS specials and an Emmy nomination to his credit, as well as numerous music videos.

Most recently, Alex has co-founded ManAlive Studios – a multidisciplinary studio and production house focusing on the convergence of music, film, and television in the age of internet media. What will Alex conquer next? Says he, “I’m still recovering from being conquered myself — by my beautiful wife and our three adorable daughters. With baby number four on the way, the adventure’s just beginning.
